A Nationwide Research Project: LOCATING TEEN OUTING CLUBS
a project of Teens To Trails
in partnership with the National Park Service
WHO WE ARE
Teens To Trails (T3) is a nonprofit organization in Maine that is passionate about engaging teens in the outdoors by building & supporting high school Outing Clubs – also called “outdoor adventure clubs”. We are committed to helping teenagers get active outdoors for the tremendous mind/body health benefits that come from spending time outside in nature.
WHAT WE ARE EXPLORING
Since 2006, T3 has focused on assisting Outing Club Programs in high schools across Maine. Over the years, people outside of Maine have inquired about our work. This year, T3 has been encouraged by a partnership with the National Park Service to find out if similar efforts are happening elsewhere. If so, we’d like to find out who is involved and if there is interest in growing the teen Outing Club movement.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Please help us understand what is happening in your school/town/region/state related to getting teenagers outdoors. We are looking for high school outing clubs, contacts with those clubs, and/or information on similar getting-teens-outside efforts that you may know about.
We welcome your further interest or involvement. You can reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
