Dear CAROL,
It
is vital that teens are connected to the natural world. It is important
to their health & well being. It is critical to our future. Teens
To Trails is building support for high school Outing Clubs because they
are hugely successful, where they exist, in engaging teens in the
outdoors. There needs to be an Outing Club in every high school! Check
out highlights of our successful Acadia Outing Club Rendezvous &
our upcoming plans for this school year.

Outing Club Grants Available
Teens
To Trails is putting funds directly into the hands of Outing Clubs to
help new high school Clubs get started & assist existing Clubs in
strengthening their programs. With the generous support of L.L.Bean
& the Quimby Family Foundation, we hope to reach 6 or 7 Clubs this
year with grants of about $500 each. There is a simple application process. Requests are due December 1st with notification to grant recipients just after the holidays. Here are the GRANT GUIDELINES. Contact Carol Leone if you have questions or need help.

T3 Acadia Rendezvous'09 a success!
Nine Outing Clubs came together for a fall weekend in Acadia National Park to camp & cook, hike, bike, rock
climb & spend an evening under the night sky. Rendezvous '09
provided
newer Clubs the opportunity to get outdoors alongside more experienced
leaders, building excitement for their individual Outing Club programs
while they
built on their own experience & confidence levels in the
out-of-doors.
